A Change Has Begun – The Power Of A Mentor

I sat down and thought a lot about what I was going to write in this post before I wrote it. You see, I recently had my “eye’s opened” to a few things that I had let slip by the wayside so to speak in the last few months.

Many of you already know me one way or another. It could be you bought one of my e-books The Newbie Workbook or Article Marketing Exposed, or maybe you joined my list where I showed you how I have been running my online business and how I have it structured through The Newbie University. Or maybe you don’t know me at all, and if so, let me thank you for stopping by and giving me a chance to get to know you:)

My story is pretty simple in that I started out just like all the other thousands of people who attempt to make money online. No clue of where I was going and no clue on how I was going to get there.  All I did in the beginning was soak up as much knowledge as I could, put my nose to the grind stone and get to work.  Luckily for me, I worked hard enough that I made money.

The harder I worked, the more money I made. Sounds like an old cliche doesn’t it. But the truth is for the last 6 months, I have just really sat back and profited from all the hard work I did in the beginning.

My wife had twins in October and with all that goes with new babies,  I got lazy in other words. You see there are so many things that I had planned and that I wanted to have done by now. Guess how many of them came to completion………..NONE.

I had a vision of creating The Newbie University into THE top membership site for new marketers to come and get a solid fundamental education on how to make money online. I know as well as all of you do, that there are a TON of scams and just flat out garbage on the internet when it comes to this area.

I figured who better to do it than someone who didn’t even have an email address the first time I looked into this. It’s true, I was THE ultimate newbie. I hated computers with a passion.  If it wasn’t for me losing 5000.00 in a scam called Ad Surf Daily, I probably would still be that guy to be honest.

I wanted to create more products that helped people and truly gave people a solid shot at making some cash from the internet. Sooooooo many things that I wanted to do and none of them got done. I flat out got lazy and content with the money I had coming in from all the work I had done when I first started.

All of this changed about a two weeks ago. You see, I’ve really only had one mentor since I started all of this a year and a half ago. Jeremy Kelsall took me under his wing a bit when I first started doing this and pushed me a long. Now let me say this, he didn’t “give” me anything that just automatically made me money. What he did was allow me to bounce idea’s off of him then he would give me suggestions.  It was up to me to figure out what worked and what didn’t.

I will always be grateful for the time Jeremy helped me and it’s something that I will never forget.  Through a lot of trial and error, I’ve managed to put over 100K in my pocket in that year and a half since I first started. BUT, it wasn’t until I joined Alex Jefferys coaching program that some serious light bulbs went off.

It’s not that I had been doing things so wrong, it’s that I hadn’t been doing much PERIOD! Just a few of his tips really got the brain working again and to say I’m 10x’s more focused now than in the last 6 months is a understatement.

Which now leads us back to The Newbie University.  I want  YOU to be a success online. I want you to be able to look your friends and family in the eye and tell them “I told you I could do it”. I think we all have heard the “what are you doing” line from someone who just doesn’t understand what it is we do on the internet. They think we’re just playing around or something.

As a newbie or someone who has been struggling, what would YOU like to learn? Be specific as I’m going to be creating something for everyone here in the next month that will help while I finish up the Newbie University. It could be something on article marketing, list building, traffic, seo or anything else you may think of.

Soon, The Newbie University will be what I intended it to be and that’s the best damn training ground for new and struggling marketers on the net!

So here’s your chance to voice what you would like to have in it. Leave your suggestions in your comments as to what you would really like to learn and I’ll do my part to help make sure that happens.

There’s a good bit of honesty in that post, I can appreciate that. I joined the Newbie University, but it was after you had moved the forum to private.

I’d like to learn more about list building.

Hey Mark,

Don’t worry, I’ll be opening back up the forum here soon once the The Newbie University is ready to go. As far as list building goes, I’ll make sure to cover a few areas of that in the report I’m working on for you. For right now though, make sure you have something of interest to give to your traffic in exchange for their email address. Try and make it unique as possible and you’ll get a better response.

Hi Bryan

A very interesting post. I went and checked out the background to the ASD scam – those things are awful! Sorry you lost you’re money. My husband came close to one of those a few years back, but I saw through it luckily and pulled him back.

Glad you’ve had good online success – $100k is excellent! How did you do it? Was it selling your own products, affiliate marketing, a combination or what? (If you don’t mind me asking).

I think it’s a great goal you have with the Newbie’s University, and with your experience it should be a resounding success.

Keep up the good work.

Jaycee Online

Hi Jaycee,

Yea, the whole ASD thing was quite the experience. While I’m never going to be happy about losing $5000.00, it was because of that, I got motivated to get my money back out of the computer. I look at it as a $5000.00 education and honestly the best money I ever spent:) I’m glad to hear you were able to stop your husband before he lost any money though.

I made the 1money through different avenues of Internet Marketing. A good amount was from affiliate promotions, CPA and my own products. So I did a little bit of everything. Looking forward to hearing more about your success and if I can help with anything, please let me know.

Hi Bryan!

Well, I’m a fan. I love what you’ve done with the place so to speak LOL… the colors, the look, the ease to read… and above all the writing. I have just read the “A change has begun – The power of a mentor” and, well, hallelujah brotha, hallelujah. *smile*

Anyway, I just want to comment on how right you are. A mentor is a powerful thing and as a fellow student of Alex Jeffrey’s I agree that this is the educational experience that will (for real) take us along the path of online fufillment. And the expectation that we will go forth and share this knowledge means we are allowed, or better yet encouraged, to help people who weren’t so lucky to get into this coaching experience.

I like your blog posts because I feel I know you. Not only are you a friend through the school of Jeffrey’s but your interesting posts are something I want to follow and tell my readers about.

As a new student in the same program, my blog at http://jennifer-wallis.com/ tells of my basic journey and I like to share stuff with readers who are kindred spirits wanting to be successful as online enterpreneurs. I like to help people get rid of the barriers they’ve put in their brain that stops them from making money. Watching other peoples genuine journeys to online enterpreneurship is exactly the kind of thing I am wanting to share.

Great site Bryan!

Jennifer

Hi Bryan,

Glad to hear you’re back in the game so to speak. Yes, life happens sometimes and you are fortunate that you made so much in the beginning that you were able to support your family especially having twins.

If you follow what Alex is teaching and you stay focused I’m sure you will be on your way to making more than what you’ve made. I am patiently waiting for my first subscriber but I know that it will come in due time.

Continued success to you!

Anna

Hey Jennifer and Anna,

Thanks for stopping bye and saying hello:)

Jennifer, stopped by your blog a few minutes ago and left you a comment. Nice blog!

Anna, I was fortunate to do very well so soon after starting out. I still do very well, but I have not finished somethings that I really wanted to. Just let “life” get in the way I guess.

Don’t stress about subscribers, everything comes in time with some good hard work:)

THanks for you hard work Bryan. There are lots of people out there that think the economy is bad and that means they cant make money. Nonsense!

I have been doing better because are more honed in and desperate to buy. Most people seem to be focusing on the wrong markets. They don’t realize that in the last great depression many millionaire where made due to supply – demand.

Cheers

Kimmy

Hello Bryan,

I havent been to the NU for a while.
I started up another site.Still trying.

What i need is traffick for one thing,
been submitting articles. And trying for links.
Then how to opitimize a WP site,or blog.

For instance, how to make the H1,H2,H3 ect..
Proper page description,ect…
When i look in TTravis,my onpage seo needs help.

I have been looking for WP help, but remember im on a dial up isp and you tube vids dont work sometimes.

Anyway,ill talk to ya later,
Oh ya,i need to pm you.I bought a expired, aged domain, (article based),and have like 15,000 plr articles.

Ill head over to the NU.

Matt (pcpupil).

Hey Matt,

Good to hear from you! I think I can track you down a wordpress guide that is pretty good. Let me see what I can do and I’ll email you.

Hi Bryan-

I am a member of The Newbie University and have your Newbie Workbook. I also did a bootcamp with Jeremy and Don.

I wish I could say that I was successful right away but that hasn’t happened despite putting in many hours. I didn’t know anything about computers before last fall so I had a long way to go.

I don’t get on forums much any more as I am concentrating my efforts elsewhere and if you log in to forums, you can easily spend hours reading. There are a few people that I follow and believe to be genuine in their commitment to wanting to help people and I believe you are one of them.

Basically I am following a “bum marketing” path and just hanging in there. I believe my hard work will pay off, hopefully sooner than later. I am building a list and have begun to incorporate twitter. At this point, I am appreciative of your help and what I want to learn next is using wordpress to build sites.

Thanks, Bryan -
Cassie

Hey Cassie,

Sounds like you are working hard! Keep it up and results will come. I’ll see if I can get you the same resource as Matt when it comes to wordpress site set up. I may even do a few video’s for you guys on that as I’ve gotten have way decent at it.

Good to hear from you!

Hey Bryan,

Good to see that you have a growing family. My wife gave birth 3 weeks ago to a baby girl so we have one of each now & the restaurant is now closed so to speak lol.

I would like to know the best way to promote a CPA product and what are the better offers on Copeac. That would be cool.

Look forward to your future advise & products

Hey Joe,

Congratulations on your daughter! Your one of the lucky ones that got one of each LOL. I hear you on the restaurant being closed, we shut the doors on ours for sure!

I’ll see what I can do on getting you some decent offers to promote on Copeac.

Hey Bryan…

I’ve been working at building my passive income for a little over 6 months now with niche marketing and I have to say its the easiest model I’ve ever learned because it was simple and straightforward without all the “bells and whistles” upsells etc….

I’d like to supplement this easy business model and begin building additional websites that bring in money month after month, year after year…..do you have anything that might be of interest to me? P.S. I’m not interested in selling IM products as a JV…just good ole’ affiliate sites.

Hey Bill,

There is always good money in affiliate marketing:) I’ll make sure to add something for you in the report I’ll be creating.

Hi Bryan,

Great post! I, like many others have bought lots of ebooks, courses, methods… that do nothing. The only 3 people from which I have truly learned valuable skills are:

1 You
2 William Twiner
3 Jeremy Kelsall

In fact I am doing some coaching with Jeremy and it was a great thing to see how you worked with him in order for me to really push this coaching to the next level and get the most out of it.

I am nowhere near what I’d like to be but I am definitely way ahead of where I was last year. What I’d like to see in the Newbie University is a place of openness and good will where all the members can learn from each other.

That and also learn how to crack un-crackable niches.

Best wishes moving forward!

Howard

Hey Howard,

Thats the goal my friend! I want to create a place that not only teaches well, but feels “safe” for those struggling and who are new. I think you’ll like it when it’s all said and done.

bryan as a newbie the hardest part of getting going is all the B.S. online (95 to 98%) its so hard to just trust anybody and I know that there are just a few honest folks out there and this is unfair to them
maybe the newbie university will be what it takes to get over that hump to give up is to let down

Your right Bob, there is a ton of B.S. on the internet. It can be tough for those just starting out to wade through it all for sure. Thats one of the goals of The Newbie University. To cut out all the B.S. and give you a proven plan that works!

Hi Bryan,
You asked what holds some of us back hmn. Well disappointment with ones inability to keep ones focus, worried about being able to walk.

Well one thing is for sure I am not stupjd just need a little training and real mentoring not just someone out for a dollar.

You see I don’t know if this is the business for me I am not enjoying it however given the hand I have been dealt this seems to be the quickest way to get to were I need to be. I have always been fair in business I have even accepted loses sometimes chalking it up to a business exspense.

I am not sure where this is going but I will need to get some answers soon. I am holding the little money I have until I can get some good advice.

I have lost over 15k in the last year online so my mis-trust I feel is warranted not one of those individuals ever come back and say hey you bought my product can I help you at least not without sticking there hand back out.

No I have to wait and see what I will need as far as exspenses with the doctor before I invest another wasted $1.00 I am open for suggestions just a little hurt thats all.

Hey Kevin,

Your not alone by a long shot my friend. I lost 5K myself at one point. One thing you have to ask yourself though is why your not enjoying it. If you truly don’t like it, then it very well may be not for you. If it’s because you have lost a lot of money thats one thing and EVERYONE can understand that, but if it’s something you just don’t like then it’s going to be hard to stay focused.

I don’t blame you one bit for being skeptical of anything after losing that amount of money.

Nice going on the daughter but you better start putting lots of money aside for all those dresses she’s going to want. (but daddy…)!

I think the hardest thing these days is who to trust!

So many talk about mentoring and needing someone to help you succeed but it’s hard for the new person on the net to: one afford the fees most ‘successful’ folks ask and two who to trust.

It is a struggle.

Hey Bob,

Yea, I have 3 daughters now to buy dresses for, weddings to pay for and college…………..ahh, don’t want to think about it!

It can be a struggle at times, but build relationships with the successful people and you’ll know how to choose a mentor.

Hi Bryan, it’s been a while. I was over at the NU for a while then I took some time off to rethink things. I learned a lot over there. Since then, I have made some mistakes and learned from them. I am now wanting to start over again the correct way. One thing I don’t have is a mentor but I look at you as my mentor as I haven’t really had anyone to take the time and answer my questions and try to get me making some money as you have did. I have had some success but only temporary.

I am trying to get my sites to rank so I can get consistent income. I have yet to do this and I blame my lack of keyword research skills and evaluating the competition of the keywords I choose. So that is what I really need to understand so I can have a better chance of ranking some sites more easily and hopefully making consistent income so I can reinvest.

Hey Meka! It has been a while since I talked with you:)

Good to hear that you had success even if it was not for as long as you would have liked. Keyword research is something that takes a good amount of trial and error at times, but it’s one of the things that I’ll be spending a lot of time on in The Newbie University.

Great Bryan and thanks.
I finally made a sale from CB with my MOM site(Travis),but just one, with the upsell but havent had another yet.

Hope i dont lose it from CB rules.Im going for the chocolate cake thing next.To get my 5.

Congrats on the twins, didnt know about that.

Hey,ill email ya about the plans for my article site.
Maybe we can use it for the NU like an ezine arts.

Matt

Awesome job on making a sale Matt! Go celebrate!

I would be interested in learning how to stop procrastinating, get focused, and build good working habits. Also how to get over my fear of writing.

Hey Paul,

Staying focused and on task is going to be a huge part of what I’m setting up. It can be tough to do as you can see from my blog post. Sometimes all you need is a little push in the right direction.

Hi Brian,
Nice to hear from you again. I was in the N/U and am a member of Copeac but have not had any luck yet despite trying various ways to promote my site and also am an affiliate of Amazon. My problem is traffic, despite media buying and different ads as well as being number one on Google for at least a month, still haven’t made a sale. I guess thats my main problem. You might direct me to a link where I can show you my site and give me your expert opinion.
Regards,
Al

Hey Al,

Shoot me an email with your site’s link and I’ll take a look at it for you.

Hi Bryan, I did email you from my gmail address but I’ll do it from here as well , I know how busy you are. So here is my website for your scrutiny be brutally blunt!
http://cowhide-rugs-for-sale.blogspot.com/ You will see it has articles on it and also an Amazon banner but I can’t get traffic this is where I need your expert opinion.
Many thanks,
Regards,
Al

Hey B,

Good to see you getting back in the game. The forum is definitely a little too quiet. I can appreciate your post as I have done pretty much the same thing myself and my income has dropped to about 1/3 or what I was making 6 months ago. I have now lost patience, with myself that is. It can be difficult to keep the focus that is necessary to make it in this business.

I have now found something that gets me a little excited to get back to it again and am now charging full steam ahead. I’ve done it before and I can do it again. I’ll just have to treat it like Albert Pujols treats 88mph fast balls left over the middle of the plate.

Talk soon,

Jim

Hey Jim,

Good to see you getting back to being focused again! I know you were doing VERY well there for a while. I enjoyed watching you go from making nothing to over a couple K a month!

Am from a third world country and so much interested to join this IM world. Been subscribing free to several IM programs. I read almost all materials, newsletters and other related materials . It so nice to hear from someone talking from newbies perspective and opening programs specifically designed for for new marketerers.. From what i had read and been reading , am comfuse and adamant to join yet.. Dont have the capacity to determine yet if the program will have this hidden fees and other charges , after joining.

Bryan,

I’ve purchased both of your products and have benefited from them. I’m still in the early learning phase of getting my IM dreams off the ground. I am currently stuck in a job that, while it pays good, sucks the life out of me every single day.

My goal is to get out of that place by my next birthday (April) so I am busting butt to do it. I have made some good strides over the past couple of months but still have a lot to do to get where I want to be.

My biggest sticking area is with keyword research. I’ve found some longtail keywords that I thought would lead me to some money if I dominated them, but they just weren’t buying keywords. So I need advice in separating the keyword process into finding the right buying combinations that are easy to dominate. I was sitting on top of 4 million sites and over 1,000 of them were optimized for my longtail keywords, but not a single sale.

Looking forward to what you have to share in the future. I hope I can be half as successful in the next year as you have been.

Hey Steve,

Awesome goal to set for yourself! Keep focused and you have a real good shot at doing it.

We’ll be getting into finding buying keywords for sure!

Hi Bryan,

Good post, my friend. Good idea as well, to give your list a way to vent back, so that you will know what it is they need.

I have managed to bring my blog from a rating of 12,700,000 down to under 400,000 in two months, bso, have internet traffic, but, I need help with conversions to my opportunity.

God Bless

Hey Ray,

Thats an awesome jump in numbers my friend! Start adjusting little things here and there to try and increase your conversions. Don’t make to many drastic changes at once, but watch how each one effects how long they stay on your site. They longer they stay, the better chance of getting a conversion.

HI BRYAN
I remember when I first started on the Internet and bought into a system with money could not afford. Was a trying experience the program owner said he was available for guiding us through problems. Problem is he talked way over my head and I could not get him to come down to my earth.
I found your site and liked it you talked my language and I thank you for it.
Keep going I will follow you. looking to see the new you and the NU.

Hey John,

Looking forward to getting to know you better and seeing how I can help you become successful!

Congrats about the twins! You are a lucky man! I have 10 kiddos of my own. As far as the Newbie University I think it’s great to be collecting ideas. People are at all different stages in their internet marketing efforts.

Covering the basics in a detailed but easy to understand way is important. Then adding a little meat to that and getting people to contribute how different methods worked for them would be a benefit.

Good luck with it all!

Wow, I thought I had it rough with 3, but if you have 10 I’ll just keep quiet!!

Glad to hear from you, it’s been a while!

Hi Bryan, glad to see you are getting re-focused.We all need to adjust our thinking and the way we run our online affair’s.I finally am starting to take action and have my first website up.Learning as I go.I think the biggest problem that I have is the technical side of things and taking action.I over think way to much.Congratulations with the new additions to your family.Children are truly a blessing.I hope and wish you the very best.Thank’s for being there for us newbies.

Hey Don,

Awesome on getting your first website up and going. I hear ya on the technical side, that was what I had and still have the most trouble with. Sometimes you have to outsource that stuff so you can concentrate on the things that are more profitable to you.

Hey Brian,

Got your email and couldn’t remember when or why I signed up until someone mentioned Alex Jeffery.

Any, just wanted to say congrats on the twins. Had a baby girl 3 years ago and it changes your focus in life – doesn’t make you lazy, just doing something different.

Family is what life is all about. The internet is a tool to provide us with the lifestyle to support the family.

Sometimes, we need to step back, take care of relationships important to us, then get re-energized and move forward.

All the best

Hey Gene,

Thanks man! Yea, kids will sure change your life but always in a good way. My oldest is almost 5 now. All three kids are girls, so it’s going to be a long ride when they get older…….

Keep me updated on how your doing!

Hi Bryan,

I’m a big fan of yours ever since I joined the NU I like your up-front method of training and NO BS way of explaining things.

I was soooo close to joining Alex’s coaching programme, I only missed out by a couple of weeks due to finance trouble at the time.

Anyway, I have just bought your ebook “the newbie workbook” and I’m going to get into it this week.

I’m in the process of a wso on the warrior forum with my own product, so just waiting for that to be accepted.

Keep up your focus and I’m sure you will make the NU a real place to be for newbies.

P.S congrats on your new arrivals, I think family is what it’s all about.

Mike.

Hey Mike,

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Good luck on WSO! If you need any help with it just let me know.

The NU will be awesome when I’m done. I guarantee it.

Congratulations Bryan on your new focus factor. Will be looking to see what else you come up with. I bought your 2 products and they really helped greatly in building my business.

Something I have not done yet is produce my own product. I always seem to get distracted doing that, thinking it is so easy to just do affiliate marketing using other people’s products. Would be interested in some direction on that. How to get started?

You, Jeremy & Don, William Twiner, Sara Young, Mark Hess, Matthew Olson, Daniel Brock, and Geoff Shaw have all put together great products that have helped me build my business and I really appreciate that.

Have a great day.

Robert Oliver
“Its Not Over Till I Win”

Hey Robert!

Good to hear from you! Glad to hear your business is going well. I know you’ve busted your ass working on it. There will be a module dedicated to product creation so I’m sure it will help you out with that.

Love the “it’s not over till I win” slogan!

Hey Bryan,

Nice post. I think my biggest hangup is content creation. Now, the thing is I can write decent articles and get CTR over 60% on some of them. I actually averaged near 30% for a while. The problem is getting focused and doing the work. I did near 100 articles and then just fizzled. I now have multiple sites sitting waiting for content. I finally hired someone for creating accounts for Big Mike’s Bots. That is helping in another area of procrastination. So I guess the main thing is killing procrastination. D & J starting their forum hasn’t helped. I know it works I just need to do it. Man this sounds like a confessional.

Appreciate all you have done and Hope all your plans come to completion.

Best,
Leiif

Hey Leiif,

Sometimes it can be hard to stay focused. Lol, just look at what this post was about HAHA.

Main thing is to find a way to refocus then hit it hard. I haven’t even been to D&J’s forum yet just because I know I’ll spend to much time in there:)

This is good news Bryan. Time and energy are the commodities I need to succeed at this game.LOL. I am more then ever motivated to make my living online right now since, so many people doubt me that I can do it. Especially family. Back linking, sales copy, list building are some things I would be interested in learning. Thanks Bryan. I know and trust Newbie University will deliver 110% !

Gary Mahon

Heeeeeey Gary!

It can be tough with family doubting you. I know you’ve worked hard and some things have just got in your way. You’ll get there, just have to keep working at it. I’ll talk to you soon.

Hey Bryan

Great post mate and hope the twins are not keeping you too occupied :)

My only gripe about the MWA 2.0 course was that there was nothing detailed about how to market to your list.

Everything was geared up to how to build a list but then that was it…………so when you have a list, what do you do with it and how do you market to them properly in an honest and ethical way?

I loved Alex’s training but this was a bit of a flaw and could have been covered a lot better really (I think MWA 3.0 students are getting this training now).

Best wishes

James

Hey James,

Yea, I haven’t slept for more than 5 hours straight since the twins were born. Got a few more months of that then they should be good on the sleep issue…..I hope LOL.

The best thing I can tell you is to communicate with your list and not just market to them. Treat them well and they will do the same for you.

Hi bryan,

I joined your great site last year. The think I would like is a way to listen to your webinars as I live in the UK and normally in bed when they happen.

That’s the thing I would love to happen

Hey Jacqueline,

Yea, I hate the fact that so many overseas have not been able to get on the webinars. I should have recorded them so they could be replayed for you. Not to worry though, they will all be redone and put in the N.U. once I launch it.

I live in the UK and I’m normally in bed when Newbie U lesson are under way. I would love it if I could listen or watch these lessons in some sort of video or audio format.

Hey, Bryan. Long time no posts… go Jets. Maybe that’ll help you remember me from the last incarnation of your forum. Focus and finding QUALITY outsourcing sources has been my downfall. I made a few bucks using your books(THANKS!) but I have been hamstrung by motivation and the lack of writing skills and such. I can pay to have things outsourced, but I can never get a straight answer as to where the best is. Trade secrets I assume. That would help a lot. As well as maybe a mentor to nudge me in the right direction.

Hey Alex,

Ok man, you know your not allowed to come on my blog and say anything about the J.E.T.S Football season is almost here, so we’ll see if Miami can pull the 2-0 again this year!

Finding quality people to outsource to is all about trial and error. Sometimes it takes a while to find people you know will do a good job. Honestly, that is the only secret I know about outsourcing.

I’ll probably open up a coaching program sometime towards the end of the year, but I have to get The N.U. out first.

Hey Bryan,

It’s excellent that you are back motivated and fired up. Sometimes it takes a little aha moment to get back on track and take it to the next level.

Something that helped me a lot is your newby workbook. I liked it because it was giving what to do step by step and it works!

What I’d like ot have would be the same type of information for other methods such as product creation, product launch, etc. Also, as mentionned in anotehr comment, having some good quiality and good price outsourcers contacts would be awesome as I and my limited time availability are the weak link in my business

Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Perig

Hey Perig,

Glad to see you took action and let the methods in The Newbie Workbook make you some money. I like to do things in a step by step fashion, so I’m sure there will be some of that in the N.U when it comes to product creation and launches.

Good to hear from you man!

Hey Bryan, I really appreciate the work you do. You are one of the few lists I subscribe to that does not bombard me daily with sales offers and no content. For that I say thank you. Traffic is my biggest hurdle when it comes to selling online. I have been outsourcing mostly everything else, with good success. Also a mentor would be good.

Hey TJ

Thanks man, I appreciate it! I try not to get out of control with promotions. I don’t think anyone really likes it when people do that.

There will definitely be some good training on traffic once the video’s are done. Good to hear you’ve had some success with outsourcing though. That’s a good skill to have!

Hey Bryan,

Great blog. I love the design and thanks for the ideas in your I USE widget :-) . Could you post a hint, please, on how to get it sorted the way you did it?

I know what you mean by having been burned for $5k. I wish I had gotten away that easily… Yes, there is a lot of extremely skillfully packaged rip off on the market that comes a a must have shiny thing, but in reality, these things smell. I agree with you, Alex Jeffreys’ program is the real deal. Umpteen light bulb moments later, and we are still not even half way through the course.

Enjoy the little ones, time flies by.

Max

Hey Max,

I just organized the “text” widget in the back dashboard of wordpress, then hyperlinked them with anchor text like you would a link in an article.

Hope that helps:)

Hi Byran,

First thank you for visiting my blog. I love your blog and your story is good. Helps others keep on trying despite difficulties.
I’m really enjoying Alexs’ course and I can see why he’s had so much success with his students.

Talk soon,
Brocha

Hey Brocha,

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! Looking forward to hearing about your success.

Hey Bryan,

I remember hearing you on a particular conference call Jeremy & Don did a few years ago when you were just getting started….thought to myself..”Now there’s someone who is taking MASSIVE ACTION!” (It’s amazing how some people can seem to do that, while others, with good intentions, just can’t seem to get their motors going and catch up! LOL!)

I also got my hands on your newbie workbook and started to put that to some use, but then ‘life’ reared its ugly head and then the dominoes just all started to fall at once and well…I feel like I’m back at square one again!

IMHO, when it comes to internet marketing and working for one’s self, my biggest issue is finding the motivation to ‘stay on course’ and do the things that need to get done….then again, having A.D.D. ain’t helping either! Funny, I had no problem back when I was working a regular JOB at a large call center staying focused and gettig my daily assigments completed, then again, our immediate supervisor just loved to ‘micro manage’ so that probably helped, but over the last few years, I just can’t find the motivation to really get behind being my own boss. Not that I know I can’t do this, because I know I can and I’ve had dreams where I can see myself running a very successful business, it’s just getting from where I’m at now to that final end point is what I can’t envision and if I can’t envision it, then I rarely divert my attention to it.

I’m definitely someone that needs ‘coaching’ simply to have someone make me accountable for my daily actions, but at the same time, coaching costs money and I can’t cover the typical cost assoicated with online schools such as yours when the only income I get now is coming in from Uncle Sam…and now that I think about where I’m at in my life right now…at the age I’m at (40)…I’m scared about what the future holds and that just increases the depression I’m already starting to feel crawling up my backside and once that hits, all I want to do is crawl into bed, turn on the night light and pull the covers over my head and keep the world at bay! ;-)

So, in the end, I guess what I would like to see is a relatively inexpensive ‘Newbie University”. A place where like minded people can come together, discuss what’s working for them and what’s not. Exchange ideas and hopefully, strike up some type of future JV’s.

Well, sorry for the long winded post. It’s almost 4:30am here on the west coast where I live and I can’t sleep because of…well..honestly…stress and depression…

Ray E

Hey Ray,

I hear you on the staying focused part. The truth is, if you honestly believe you can do it, and you should believe it, then you just have to get started.

I think to many people get so stuck on everything has to be perfect before they will put it out there. But what is perfect? The main thing is to just get it out there and start working on making it better.

What you may think is perfect might just suck. But the only way to find out is to get it out there and work on it from the feedback you get.

Get some sleep man! :)

Hey Bryan

Mate look at all your comments, I know you from the Warrior forum and know you were taught by Jeremy…

Hey Bryan,

Fantastic, honest post – well done!

Do you mind if I quote you?….

“I want you to be able to look your friends and family in the eye and tell them “I told you I could do it”. I think we all have heard the “what are you doing” line from someone who just doesn’t understand what it is we do on the internet. They think we’re just playing around or something.”

Can you say that bit a bit louder so that my lovely wife can hear you? :-)

Onto the Newbie university…

As i’m currently researching my first free product, it would be cool to have a product creation and how to launch it resource.

Best wishes,

Cliff

hey brian, first time ive been here and youve got a really nice blog. great post aswell, ive also lost alot of money online, well i say lost, i look at it as experience, im past the whole newbie stage now which i think everyone goes through, buying into products that you think are gonna make you rich, but then they dont at all. but i can already see your gonna be great success. keep it up.

Bryan-

I just read your about me page, and I love it! God is really blessing me with some awesome ideas…. Million dollar ideas! My issue is that I have a phenomenal idea regarding helping newbies, yet I need more partners and resources to be able to pull it off.

How big is your list by the way?

Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed browsing your blog posts. In any case I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you write again soon!

You have discovered the secret…
…the reason why most people do not make money…
is they give up with the first set back…
…things worthwhile take a lot of effort…
the harder you work, the luckier we get…

I think we all have heard the “what are you doing” line from someone who just doesn’t understand what it is we do on the internet. They think we’re just playing around or something.”

Keep up the good work, I like your writing.

Bryan,

This visit to your blog is WELL OVERDUE and what a great time I have had here. Planned to come and check out this blog post but have stayed for nearly 30 minutes.

I really like your “Newbie University” concept and the whole look and feel of your blog is awesome. You also have a great story and a writing style that just says it as it is! I can relate to that very well and obviously so can your many readers.

You have come so far so fat mate…a real inspiration to me

Well done from a fellow MWA3.0 student

oops my typing skills are not great.
I meant “so far so fast” obviously and I have no idea of your waste line measurements mate!
Sorry about that

Hi Bryan,

I’m really interested in something you wrote in your welcome message above – about sitting back and getting lazy because you hada money coming in from your first months of hard work.

I’m keen to understand more about how you did this – I’m guessing it was affiliate marketing.

I’m not a newbie – I make my living online too – but I have done so through creating my own courses and products – something which took three long years to crack. I know I made a lot of mistakes but I have overcome my problems, I have a business which works and I now teach others to do the same much quicker than I did. However… I am very keen to know how you succeeded with affiliate marketing so quickly.

What do you suggest I do – which of your products would suit me best? (I am also one of Alex’s students).

Cheers Bryan,

Rob

Hey Rob,

I made a good amount of it through affiliate marketing and have a few sites that run completely on auto pilot.

I also have my own products with The Newbie Workbook, Article Marketing Exposed and The Focus Master. I have affiliates promoting The Newbie Workbook so that always helps too.

Most of my products still continue to sell well to this day, so me getting a little lazy didn’t hurt to much.

But if you want to see how I do it, hold off for a little while longer until The Newbie University opens up. We are going to cover it from start to finish in there:)

Hey Bryan,

Just bought your newbie ebook and I have to say that it’s one of the best ebook I’ve read. When you said step by step, it truly was step by step. Everything was laid out and easy to follow.

I’m waiting to see how this newbie university goes. I’m eager to join as long as the price is not above my budget. I’m tired of false promises from “gurus” that don’t deliver. Hope your newbie university will have the same step by step instructions that will help us prove to our family and friends that making money online can be successful! Keep up the good work.

Hey Cris,

Thanks so much for the kind words. I appreciate it. That book was honestly never written to be sold. I used it as my guideline to keep myself on task as I was working. It wasn’t until after I had success with it I decided that it could help other people.

Newbie U will be in the format, but a little different method and more in depth. My goal for it is to have anyone who has never done this before to be able to step out and be successful. So we are starting from the very beginning and going to work our way to the end. There will be some surprises along the way too:)

sweet! can’t wait for what’s in store for us affiliate marketers! surprises are always good!

Hi Bryan

Love the idea of a Newbie University. It is always interesting to reflect on where we came form and how did we get to here. I could not figure it out for myself so decided to get a coach.

A little about me – My name is Sue McDonald and I am a student of Mark Terrell and I am actually going through the course a second time – by invitation. I love it and know if I do all he says, I will be successful. I am Australian but the US is my second home as I have family there and visit quite often. This is why I started Internet Marketing so I can travel whenever I want and have the money to do what I want.

Well I hope you are doing well and you become very successful. I would love you to come visit my blog and leave a comment.

Kind regards

Sue

Hey Sue,

Nice to meet you and thanks for stopping bye:) It is kind of nice to just be able to pick up and take off when ever you want and still work. Perks of the trade I guess.

Hope everything goes well for you and I’ll take a run over to your blog and say hello.

Bryan,

You really do have a success story to come from someone without an email to making $100K and getting coaching from Alex Jeffreys to starting your own The Newbie University.

Congratulations.

Cheryl

Hey Cheryl,

Thanks for stopping by, and it’s nice to meet you!

I started the N.U. about a year before I got into Alex’s program. It was kind of a “test” I did on it. Had a few hundred members, did weekly webinars and a few other things.

It’s been a lot of fun along the way too. I’ve done alright for someone who had no idea how to work an email address a couple years ago.

Hey Bryan

I have just come for a visit to your site. How are you going?

Yes it’s Mark and I am following my students as they post on other peoples blogs. They don’t know that I am always checking to see they are getting results. I am passionate about helping them achieve and then they are able to make some money online exactly the same as I am doing. It is not really difficult as long as they are willing to put in the effort.

Always pleasing if I can see some of my students have posted comments. Keep up the good work.

Regards

Mark

Good read … headline catchy … good points, some of which I have learned along the way as well (humility, grace, layoff the controversial stuff). Will share with my colleagues at work as we begin blogging from a corporate perspective. Thanks!
