You hear it all the time about how people want to start to make money online. They are focused on the fact that they can write their own schedule, make a ton of money and be ready to watch the game that’s on late during the week. Hell, why not? If you work online, you don’t have anywhere to be.
Then what happens is reality sets in and you realize that it’s not going to be as easy as you might have thought. Truth is, it is pretty easy, but most people leave out the most important part. They forget it’s called WORK from home. You still have to work, just like you would if you were at any other job you were getting paid for. But, I realize that sometimes people will get down or frustrated and just want to give up. If you feel like your starting to step foot in these shoes, then here’s a few tips to keep you going.
1. Remember Why You Started In The First Place
Go back and look again as to why you started this. I’ll be after remembering for a few minutes, you’ll get a renewed sense of drive.
2. Put Yourself In A Position You Can’t Escape
Now, obviously I’m not talking about putting yourself into a financial position that can harm you or your family. But instead of buying 1 months worth of hosting, buy it for the whole year. Give yourself a reason not to just throw money down the toilet. Post your goals in a public place that you frequent for everyone to see. You don’t want to be publicly known as a quitter do you? Well, unless it has something to do with a bad habbit:)
3. Surround Yourself With Motivated And Successful People
Believe it or not, this is one of the most important things you can ever do. Confidence breeds more confidence, so if you surround yourself with these type of people, you will begin to adapt their though process. This works in sports, business and anything else you are into really. It’s more powerful than most give it credit for.
4. Set A Time Specific Deadline For Everything
Another powerful step that many overlook. Give yourself a deadline for everything you do. It’s so much easier to just kind of mope around or procrastinate when you don’t have anything specific to do in mind. How many hours have you just wasted “looking around”? Probably more than most of us care to admit.
Remember, this is one of the few types of businesses that you can actually get more out of it than you put in, BUT only once you’ve gotten to a level that its possible. Getting there just takes a little work:)

Goo list of advice, But I wan to ad something.I also think you should break down your goal setting on a daily basis as well.
I like to create a list of things that need to be done in my life and within my website for the day, and I do this each day.
Every morning I make an old fashioned paper list and then try to complete all the things on the list I have noticed it greatly increases my productivity.
Yea Phil, I agree. Daily goal setting is a awesome way to get where your going as well. Thats why I use The Focus Master for just that purpose.
But, setting goals at all is something that not enough people take the time to do.
Some niches may become saturated with marketers, increasing competition and thus, according to the economic law of supply and demand, reducing the slice of the pie available to each competitor.
One solution is to find smaller, “undiscovered,” but still profitable, niches, usually by searching out the best keywords to target. These lower cost keywords are called long-tailed keywords, as in the long tail of secondary keyword phrases that usually follow the main keyword in popularity of number of searches conducted by internet users.
Very true with the long tail keywords. But, you can almost always find a way into the more competitive niches and still make money. The reason they are more competitive is because of the amount of money people are making. You can always get a slice of that pie some how.
You’ve got a really solid blog going here. Going to save a lot of people a lot of hassle as they go on. Thanks! I bookmarked it.
Good advice. Wish I would have read something like this when I first started out. Would have saved myself a lot of frustration.
Lol, you and me both. There were plenty of times I wanted to quit. Although from listening to a lot of people, I didn’t quite have the struggles many do. They key is to just take action. If you arn’t promoting something, you can’t make money.:)
You could also add another element to this: put a picture of what you want to get out of your business on your desktop i.e. if it’s a spanking new BMW, grab an image of the model you want and make it your desktop background. Trust me, this is a great motivator in those times when you feel like nothing is going right.
.-= Jim´s last blog ..Clothes Discounts and Deals from TM Lewin and Boden =-.
Another good point Jim. Pictures or even a scribbled note that asks “what have you done today to reach your goals” above your computer can be very powerful.
The article is very interesting! Thanks!
wow I thought I know everything about this subject keep up the great work!
Using the correct internet marking scheme can be your ticket to a thriving business venture. Because the net has been an mutual means of making future clients and getting sales, applying the correct on-line marketing strategy can make the difference when it comes to your business project. The things that you have to think when making the decision of which marketing strategy to apply is whether or not it will be beneficial for your business.
True, but I think that most people tend to over think the situation and then wind up doing nothing. There are tons of different methods out there, but in some way, they all employ the fundamentals. Once you have those down, it’s all about putting them into action. More and action and less thinking would do wonders for a lot of people.
Thanks for the kick in the ass! Needed this.
Your Welcome! Now put it into action!
