The Rise Of A Complete Newbie – Man How Things Have Changed!

The Start Of Making Money OnlineIt’s been almost two years since I jumped into the internet marketing circle now. I was looking back on it last night at some of my older posts in forums, and how “green” I really was. I was asking questions about how to create a PDF or how to upload something to a server.

I’m still amazed at times that it is actually possible to sit down at your computer and make money with it. I still remember my first sale that I got in October 14, 2008 almost a full two months after I started. I jumped up and did some kind of stupid dance that made my wife give me one of those “I don’t know you at all” looks. Sitting here now, I sometimes still can’t believe that this computer, the thing that I swore did nothing more than make people lazy, can produce as much money as it has.

My point to all of this is that if anyone had no hope in pulling this off, it was most likely me! Computers were the tools of lazy people, people who were to lazy to get off their ass and pick up the phone, people who used email instead of phones, people who “emailed in their order” instead of calling it in. Lol, I sit here now and honestly don’t know what I would do if someone tried to take the computer away from me now! There would be some jail time in there somewhere I guarantee it.

Some of you have been on my list for some time now, we know each other to an extent and those who have been on some of my webinars know each other a little more.

But for those of you who I have not spoken with or are new to my list, please take a minute and leave a comment as to where your at in your business and where you came from. Tell me about where and why you started down this path and what you see for yourself in the future.

The rest of 2010 is going to be awesome and I have no doubt not just for me! The Newbie University is in the final stages and should be up an running by the first week in September.  It’s going to be right over the shoulder training for the newest of the new to those who are more advanced. It’s been fun putting it together and I know you will all enjoy it.

For those who have been on my list for a while, it’s been great to get to know you. For those who are new or just may be passing by this page, looking forward to talking with you!

For higher profits,

Bryan

    Hi Brian,

I’ve heard of you before, not sure where but I think it would have been from warrior forum.

Congratulations on your success and maybe one day I can get to that point. The thing I struggle with the most is getting things to make sales (isn’t that what everyone fights).

Not giving up though, I’ll get there one of these days.

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hi Greg,

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello. Keep working and testing and you’ll get there. Nothing happens over night, even though a lot of people will tell you it will.

  2. michele carr says:

well first off WHO ARE YOU? You sign it bryan but in the post you say bryan and you started…….

so what gives there dearie, feel free to delete this post after you change that first sentence or change your sig.

    michele

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Lol, hi Michele,

I sign it Bryan but in the post I say Bryan? You may have been reading the about me page possibly?

I would think it’s pretty clear that I’m Bryan since my name and picture are all over this site. Not exactly sure of what part you are referring to but no worries:)

Nice of you to drop by anyway.

  3. Lesley "Wes" Klatt says:

    Hi Bryan,

What a wonderful post to read!

I’m just starting on my IM journey. Don’t get me wrong, I have Faith that I can do this, but it can be a little scary!

I’ve found myself a great coach and I’m working hard to do everything just right.

Beautiful that you’ve succeeded beyond far your expectations. I expect to do the same!

    Lesley

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hi Lesley,

Nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by! Stepping outside the comfort zone of the “normal” jobs most are used to can be a little scary. But as long as you keep that faith in yourself, you should do well!

Following a plan is a must, so it’s good to hear you have one. Best of luck and hope to hear about your success!

  4. Bruce.d.Stewart says:

    Hi Bryan
I read your email and yes here I am saying hello.
I am a full time affiliate marketer since say August last year. I say full time as I am a older dude and cant get work in the real world so i am spending all my time on the IM merry go round. Having a ball teaching my self this IM caper. This time last year, I had just put my website up, i don’t really know what i am doing but i just keep learning, then implementing and learning and so on an so on…Now and again i even make some money which i find just amazing.
I am slow at doing things like something that should take 1-2 hrs can take me over a day. OK thats enough dont want to waste the paper do we.
All the best and have liked what i have seen of your content so far.cheers…….bruceS…………

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey Bruce,

Thanks for stopping by! It is kind of wild that you can actually be in front of a computer like this and make money. Coming from a construction background, it just doesn’t seem like work to me:)

All the best and looking forward to hearing more from you.

  5. George says:

    Bryan,

Just finished reading the first two $7 reports. Really good stuff, some of which I knew but had never come to fully appreciate.

For me, the fact that you demonstrated that short articles that did not contain much if anything in the way of solutions to problems could actually work in getting traffic. (not to imply that providing useful info on solutions to problems is not a good thing, it is).

But most importantly, and I know most of us have heard this before, searching out a problem that ready, willing and able buyers are looking to solve; and then researching and providing solutions for that problem can be a simple but effective basic business model.

The solutions can be then provided and monetized as outlined in your reports.

Takes some effort and determination to make it happen, but doable.

    Let’s keep in touch.

    George

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey George,

      Good to hear from you!

There’s no doubt writing articles that way will bring you a ton of traffic. I made quite a bit of money doing it that way and to this day if I’m going into a niche I still do it that way.

There’s so much “you have to do it this way” out there. Sometimes you have to go against the grain and do it the complete opposite way…..and many times when you do that it works :)

  6. Ken McFarland says:

I found you on Warrior Forum and now have two of your workbooks (Newbie and Article Marketing). Outstanding help.

Probably everybody bookmarks or “lists up” with various mentors or gurus. I find myself deleting some of those from my own short list…sometimes, I’m just not getting value…other times, they start filling my Inbox with lame, discredited offers, or one of those $2,000 super-launches. Those names, I delete pronto.

But you’re still on my short list, Bryan…good, solid value and help. Looking forward to NU opening in a few days!

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey Ken,

Thanks for the kind words my friend, I appreciate it. I try to give out some good useful content as much as I can.

Newbie University is going to be really really cool and I’m really excited about it opening up here real soon. I don’t think there has been anything that is going to be as step by step as I’ve created. Eric Louviere is on board as well so he’ll be giving out some great information as well.

Looking forward to seeing you in there!

  7. Cris Cato says:

    Hey Bryan,

I’m really excited that Newbie University is opening it’s door soon. I’ve been in and out of this internet marketing game and I have made some money here and there but never consistently. I am hoping that your Newbie University will change all this.

Looking forward to joining and I hope I will be able to afford this as well. Thanks and keep up the good work.

  8. jacqueline says:

can’t wait for the newbie university doors to open. I tried doing it last year but due to time zones it was not possible.

I can vouch for Bryan 10000% he’s a totally stand up guy and if i’ve emailed him with a question he’s always been friendly and very professional.

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey Jackie,

Good to hear from you! Looking forward to seeing you around the N.U. again :)

  9. Tom says:

    Hi everyone…

I think I will joining you too on trip that Bryan is preparing for us :)

I come across his newbie workbook and it’s was so refreshing that I immediately went out to find more about him and his work, and I ended up here.

I’m currently trying out newbie workbook and I’m confident that it will work :)

Anyway, Bryan work is like water in desert full of Internet Marketers that have “Underground/never seen before/exclusive/you name it” technique that will make ME $$$$$$…How’s that possible ? :) I know that they are making a lot of money, but they are doing it by selling their IM stuff (or should i say shit). And when you see that offer, it looks so good, great, great sales letter, it just draws you in and you buy it….and then you get like one ebook that talks about Internet Marketing,, bla, bla, bla…and then he says that you should make $1-$3 per day with one blog….AND he promises 300 or more per day,in one week easy, and for FREE!…..hahha, I read thought that page in the ebook like 5 times just to see if I really read it right….SO, I should create 100 blogs in one week, fill them with content and just want and see how the $ comes in….but he failed to mention that you need domains, hosting and content…hahhaa….OK, but enough wasting time on foolish things.. :P Lesson learned…

I have little respect for people who make they money promoting IM courses while they themselves don’t have any experience in some other niche than IM.

Bryan has that experience and you can tell that by his work. And he really want to help you out, so I’m sure NU will be excellent thing :)

    Cheers!

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey Tom,

Glad you found your way to the blog my friend:)

The N.U. is going to be great, I’ve put a lot of work into it trying to make it as step by step as possible. There are no short cuts to making money online, but if people are willing to do the work and be consistent, it will happen.

  10. Thomas Shaw says:

    Hi Bryan
Bought your article marketing book, loads of great stuff in there.
You are where i would like to be.
Took all this up about a year ago after losing my job and house, at 48 i’m starting all over again.
I feel as if marketing on the internet is my only chance of a decent income, or future. It’s quite terrifying really.
You seem a sincere guy that’s why i will keep subscribed.

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey Thomas,

Glad you liked it:) Follow it and you’ll put some cash in your pocket!

The main thing is to keep at it. It’s the ones that continue to work, even when things are not going how they hoped that make it in the end. Keep working and you’ll do fine.

  11. Chris says:

    Hey Bryan,

looking forward to this. Your Newbie Workbook is great. As well as your focus software. I just printed out the Planners today and actually have all 9 things done already. We all know that it works, but why the §$%’§$ am I not sticking to it???

    Looking forward to the launch,
    Chris

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey Chris,

You can make it happen, you just have to force yourself to stay focused and work. Sometimes it’s hard to keep yourself on task, but keep focused and keep at it!

  12. Brian E-P says:

    Hi Bryan
    Looking forward to your University.
I’ve been circling around this IM thing for a while and gone through the information overload bit too !
So, now’s the time to stop circling and throw myself in.
i have ideas – just need to harness them and jump.

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey Brian,

Looking forward to having you in The N.U. We’re hoping to stop the “circling” for a lot of people.:)

  13. Sylviane Nuccio says:

Great blog and great idea. I met you in the Warrior Forum and now found your blog. Will bookmark.

  14. William says:

Hey Bryan man? I really like you man because you seem so straight up and honest. I’ve recentley had signed up for a coaching course paying about 500.00. The information was great but, the support sucked. I hardly ever heard vfrom this dude. How is your customer support? Will I be able to speak to some one if needs be? Thanks Man!

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey William,

Thanks man, I appreciate it! We’ve got a private forum set up just for support, so you should have plenty in there.

We do have an option for live webinars once every three weeks that are live question and answer sessions, so you could talk to someone live there.

  15. Kay H says:

Before I met you Bryan, I think I was a professional learner!
I’ve spent far too much money buying one bright shiny thing after another to try and make a go of earning online. I’d start one method, then get distracted and try another that sounds better.
Hopefully I’ve now got rid of the ‘get rich quick’ mentality and have reached ‘online maturity’!
I’ve just submitted my 3rd product to Clickbank for approval (all original work – not plr rehashed) and have started a 7 day trial of Senuke to promote them, as well as other products. I did pay for the extra tuition videos to try get the best results from it.
Thanks for your article marketing book – I’ve learned a lot from that as well as your newbie one.
I’m a 66yo heart attack survivor, so forgive the ramble – older people do tend to ‘go on a bit’….lol.
Now my goal is to emulate you and achieve success within the next 12 months.

    • Bryan Zimmerman says:

      Hey Kay,

That’s awesome! Good for you for putting your products out there and doing what it takes to get them there.

I’m glad you liked the Article Marketing book too, there’s a lot of good information in that book for sure :)

  16. Mikey says:

Bryan, I just read Article Explosion and I was very impressed at the content. You definitely have a different view than others about article writing. So, I have written my first two articles keeping it short and to the point covering enough to make the reader want to click to the next page.
I, too, believe that a lot of writing can be too much of a good thing. Thanks for the advide.

  17. Marcia Brandt says:

been doing this IM stuff for too long and not making any money yet. hoping that your strategies will help. thanks for the info.

  18. Ester says:

    Hello,Bryan and all,
Ive been looking and reading into internet marketing for a while now.. and have to say theres alot of crap out there so its very refreshing to find a guy like you, Bryan, that is sincerely obviously wanting to help people and is experienced in their own start up efforts and the learning curve of the online roller-coaster..twister world.
My story is that im personally just starting out in website build and choosing a domain niche etc etc…I have internet and computer knowledge just not put that to use and made my own show and attempted to make money online in anyway.
I have been diagnosed two years ago with multiple sclerosis and see the idea of doing something online as a chance for myself and at the same to help other people out there in the world.By be on the good old wide world web its a small world and yet there’s sooo much info out there that im very grateful to have found a person like Bryan.
At the moment im trying to focus on best plan to start off with…, my own website for sure is something im planning atm.
But also affiliate possibilities and possibly try to get into some CPA networks.
Would like to know what areas are full to bursting of experienced marketeers and what are still possible for a newbie to get into.
There are so many directions and its also a fast changing internet world out there!
Cheers and all the best to very body.
    Thanks.

  19. Marilee D says:

    Hi Bryan!
What brought me to your program? Well, I left a husband and a 15 year old daughter on our farm in another part of the state to live with my aging father until he passes. We are about to lose the farm and that possibility is devastating to our daughter. She will be a junior in high school next year and doesn’t want to change schools, friends, etc. I have been a newspaper journalist for the past 5 years and there isn’t any money in that career path! So while I have some time, I’m trying to break into a online income source to supplement our income. I’m brand new to all this stuff and your instructions are extremely valuable to me. I have one question, what is IM? There are so many definitions for that acronym. Thanks for your willingness to help I appreciate all that you do for others. Your truly a god in a human shell.

  20. Ester says:

Hello Marilee D, I was just browsing around the blog here and I saw your question.
IM stands for Internet Marketing in this case as you said there’s probably many other uses for that acronym.
Sorry to hear of your situation at the moment. Hope it improves for you and that your father passes gently to find his peace. All the best, take care.

  21. Marlene Wilkinson says:

    Hi Bryan,

I like your Focus Master. It DOES help maintain focus, ‘tho my focus at the moment is on preparing to shift from one side of Australia to the other. By the time I’ve settled in, I’m thinking it will be April before I can concentrate on business.

And now, back to the task in hand :)
